The Waterhole
5 pp · animal; western-frontier

When a man named Cliff Taylor seizes the deed to the waterhole that sustains the region's cattle and wildlife, he fences it off and demands payment from anyone desperate enough to need water during the drought—but Black Fury refuses to be denied. As Taylor grows richer from his ruthless scheme, the wild stallion and an unlikely ally work to expose his fraudulent claim and restore the waterhole to those who need it most.

The Enemy, Man
5 pp · animal; western-frontier

When winter threatens the high Rockies, Black Fury rescues an injured gray stallion from lobo wolves and helps him limp toward home—only to discover that the gray's owner, rancher Dart Elkins, plans to use the grateful horse as bait to trap the wild stallion himself. As Elkins closes in with a deadly scheme, Black Fury must outwit a man far more dangerous than any natural predator to save the herd from a frozen canyon trap.

Riverman's Party
3 pp · western-frontier
Dan'l Boone [Daniel Boone]

When a rowdy riverboat crew led by Conners hits town with supplies and demands extra payment, the settlers find themselves overwhelmed by months of pent-up river-men looking for trouble. Dan'l Boone gets deputized to restore order, and he'll need more than words to convince Conners and his belligerent crew to behave themselves. A brawl erupts that tests the frontier scout's patience—and his fists.

The Rogue Stallion
5 pp · animal; western-frontier

Black Fury faces off against a rogue stallion intent on taking over the range, but the mighty horse's victory draws unwanted attention from two bank robbers desperate for fresh mounts to outrun the law. When the outlaws manage to rope the black-and-white stallion, Black Fury must rely on his wild spirit and keen instincts to overcome his captors and turn the tables on the fleeing criminals.

The Captive
6 pp · western-frontier

Jim Bowie is captured by Mexican soldiers during a reconnaissance mission, but when hostile Indians close in on their camp and their supplies dwindle, the prisoner they were guarding becomes their only hope for survival. Caught between an inexperienced army, angry local ranchers, and circling enemies, Bowie must decide whether to stay a captive or use his wits to help the very men holding him prisoner.
