Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan of the Apes
Western · 1962–1972 · 75 issues
About the series
From 1962 to 1972, Western Publishing brought Edgar Rice Burroughs' Lord of the Jungle to comics with a 75-issue run that defined Tarzan for a generation. The series was most famously illustrated by Jesse Marsh, Russ Manning, and Paul Norris, whose lush, adventurous art brought the African wilds to life, while Gaylord Du Bois scripted the majority of the stories. Featuring Tarzan, his son Jack Clayton, and allies like Dan-El and Hamasai, this series stands as a cornerstone of classic adventure comics, faithfully adapting and expanding Burroughs' original vision.
