Fred the Clown

A five-issue comic series from Hotel Fred Press, Fred the Clown (2001–2004) is the solo creation of writer/artist Roger Langridge. The series follows a hapless, silent-movie-style clown through a series of absurd, wordless misadventures that blend slapstick, surrealism, and genuine pathos. Langridge’s expressive, detailed cartooning and inventive visual storytelling make this a standout example of independent, creator-owned humor comics from the early 2000s.
