About the series
Frank Willard's long-running newspaper strip "Moon Mullins" was collected into seven comic albums by Cupples & Leon from 1927 to 1933, preserving the early adventures of the lazy, good-natured title character and his chaotic family. These slim volumes captured the strip's classic blend of working-class humor and slapstick, featuring Moon's scheming sister Emmy and the perpetually put-upon Lord Plushbottom. As one of the first comic strips to be regularly reprinted in this format, the series offers a key snapshot of 1920s-30s newspaper comic culture.
