Nightmare

From 1970 to 1975, Skywald’s Nightmare carved a grim niche in horror comics across 23 issues, offering a raw, psychosexual alternative to the tamer titles of the era. Under the frequent scripting of Al Hewetson and Alan Hewetson, with vivid art by Pablo Marcos and Maelo Cintron, the series leaned into macabre, twist-ending tales that often explored madness and the grotesque. A key entry in Skywald’s “horror-mood” line, it helped keep the genre alive during the early 1970s, pushing boundaries with its unsettling black-and-white interiors.
