About the series
Marvel's Strange Tales of the Unusual (1955–1957) was a short-lived anthology series that delivered eleven issues of eerie, twist-ending horror and supernatural suspense during the pre-superhero era. Carl Wessler wrote most of the stories, with art by a rotating team including Paul Reinman, Marie Severin, and George Roussos, whose moody illustrations gave the tales of ghosts and oddities a pulpy chill. Though brief, the series stands as a key example of Marvel's mid-1950s pivot to horror comics before the Comics Code reshaped the industry.
