Turok, Son of Stone
Western · 1962–1982 · 101 issues
About the series
From 1962 to 1982, Western Publishing's Turok, Son of Stone ran for 101 issues, chronicling the adventures of the titular Turok and his companion Andar, who are trapped in a mysterious, dinosaur-filled lost valley. The series was most frequently written by Paul S. Newman and illustrated by a trio of Italian artists—Angelo R. Todaro, Alberto Giolitti, and Giovanni Ticci—whose lush, detailed artwork brought the prehistoric world to vivid life. A pioneering action-adventure comic that blended Native American protagonists with science-fantasy elements, it stands as one of the longest-running and most distinctive series of its era.
