Chris Rule
Chris Rule was an American comic book artist and inker, born on November 23, 1894, and active from the 1940s through at least 1960. He is best known as the first regular Marvel Comics inker for Jack Kirby during the Silver Age of Comic Books. Rule began his career in the 1940s, and his work spanned a variety of genres, including Westerns, romance, and jungle adventures. He is credited on over 60 issues, with his most frequent titles including *Kid Colt Outlaw*, *Lorna the Jungle Girl*, *Cuentos de Brujas*, *Sheriff Classics*, *Lovers*, and *Gunsmoke Western*. His inking style complemented Kirby's dynamic pencils, helping define the look of early Marvel Comics. Rule passed away on April 6, 1983. While he did not receive major awards during his lifetime, his contributions as a foundational inker for Kirby's Silver Age work remain a key part of comic book history.
