“Double-Cross in Death!”

In "Double-Cross in Death!", the Human Torch and Sun Girl race to stop a deadly double-cross when a man wrongly imprisoned for murder escapes and tracks down the gangster who framed him—only to be targeted by the gangster’s boss. With the truth hanging in the balance, the escaped convict barely survives long enough to clear his name, thanks to the heroes’ quick thinking. Written by Bill Woolfolk and illustrated by Mike Sekowsky, with inks by Vince Alascia, and a cover by Chris Rule, this 1948 tale delivers a tense, fast-paced mystery that’s as gripping as it is classic.
