Chris Ryall
Christopher Ryall (born 1969) is an American comic book editor and writer best known for his long tenure as President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of IDW Publishing from 2004 to 2019. He entered the industry through editorial work, eventually shaping IDW into a major publisher of licensed and creator-owned titles. As a writer, his most notable work is *Zombies vs. Robots*, co-created with artist Ashley Wood, which earned an Eisner Award nomination in 2011 and was optioned for film by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Ryall’s writing credits span over fifty issues, including runs on *Rom*, *Banzai!*, *Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency*, *Shaun of the Dead*, *Beowulf*, and *Weekly World News*. His style often blends genre pulp with humor and horror, frequently collaborating with artists like Wood and others at IDW. After leaving IDW in 2019, he continued writing and consulting. Ryall’s legacy is tied to his role in expanding IDW’s catalog and his contributions to licensed comics.
