Henry Scarpelli (born July 30, 1930; died April 4, 2010) was an Italian-American comic book artist whose six-decade career left a substantial mark on humor comics in the United States. He came up through the industry working for DC Comics, where his crisp, expressive inking on titles such as *Leave It to Binky*, *Date with Debbi*, *Swing with Scooter*, and the *Margie* television adaptation earned him genuine peer recognition — culminating in the Shazam Award for Best Inker in the Humor Division in 1970.

From there, Scarpelli built an equally enduring relationship with Archie Comics, eventually becoming the primary artist on the syndicated daily *Archie* comic strip for much of the 1990s and 2000s. His catalog across both publishers is remarkably broad: credits as artist, inker, letterer, and occasionally writer span more than 630 issues, with heavy representation in *Archie*, *Betty and Veronica*, and digest collections. His son, actor Glenn Scarpelli, became a small part of that world as well, appearing in a recurring series of Archie one-off stories titled *Glenn Scarpelli in Hollywood*. Warm, clean, and reliably funny, Henry Scarpelli's draftsmanship helped define the look of mainstream American humor comics across multiple generations of readers.
