Simon Coleby
Simon Coleby was born on 1 March 1967 in the United Kingdom. He is best known as a British comic book artist whose career has been defined by a steady, muscular style suited to both science fiction and superhero storytelling. Coleby entered the industry in the early 1990s, with his first credited work appearing in 1991. He quickly became a regular contributor to the long-running British sci-fi anthology *2000 AD*, where his detailed linework and dynamic action sequences found a natural home.
His most prominent work came when he joined the rotating art team on *The Authority* for DC Comics/WildStorm, a series known for its widescreen, blockbuster approach to superheroics. Coleby also drew for Marvel, notably on *Punisher 2099*, and contributed to other projects such as *Dreaming Eagles*, *The Royals: Masters of War*, and *The Eternal*. He often collaborated with writers like Garth Ennis and Robbie Morrison. Over a career spanning more than three decades, Coleby has served as artist, colorist, and inker on nearly 100 issues, remaining active as of 2026. While he has not received major individual awards, his body of work is respected for its reliability and craft, and he is regarded as a solid, workmanlike figure in British comics.
