“Dances with Monsters”

In "Dances with Monsters," the fourth week of DC's 52 series brings a storm of tension across Gotham and beyond. Montoya keeps watch over a crumbling building with unsettling results, while Halo's search for the missing "space team" hits a turning point. Booster Gold's isolation deepens as he burns a bridge with the superhero community, and Steel's upgrade is interrupted by a mysterious assailant. Meanwhile, Ralph's meeting with Wonder Girl and the enigmatic Kryptonian cult leader Devem leaves him changed—though not necessarily for the better. With J. G. Jones' striking cover capturing the series' eerie edge, this issue blends personal stakes and cosmic mystery in a way only Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, and Mark Waid could deliver, illustrated by Keith Giffen and Joe Bennett with inks by Jack Jadson, colors by Alex Sinclair, and letters by Rob Leigh.

The fourth week finds Montoya watching a derelict building in Gotham, and coming away better, and worse, off for it. Halo is looking for signs of the "space team" heroes return as Washington winds down the search. Booster burns down one of the few bridges he had with the superhero community. While updating his armor, Steel falls victim to a mysterious attacker. Ralph meets with Wonder Girl and the Kryptonian cult lead by Devem, and comes away with a little less than he went in with. By the week's end, Halo's vigilance pays off, to an extent.
