Archie 80th Anniversary Jumbo Comics Digest #2
"Happy Archieversary!" marks a sweet, silly milestone in the Riverdale gang’s history, spotlighting a classic miscommunication that spirals into a charmingly awkward date. Written by Ray Gill and brought to life with warm, expressive art by Bill Vigoda, the story captures Archie’s endearing awkwardness and Betty’s flustered charm as a simple phone call turns into a whirlwind of mistaken intentions. The cover by Bill Vigoda perfectly captures the lighthearted tension of the moment, making this a standout tribute in the 80th Anniversary Jumbo Comics Digest.

Veronica's "all tied up", and even though he thinks of Betty like a sister, Archie's mom convinces him to call her for a date. He says "This is Archie! Doing anything tonight, Keed?". She replies, "Er..no..but you must have the wrong number, Archie. This is Betty Cooper speaking!". He says he knows, and she faints. Thinking she's waking from a dream, and then realizing she hasn't, she gets dressed in her best white dress. She's anticipating romance, and Archie shows up in a flannel shirt and jeans, to read a book. Betty gets mad when he won't kiss her goodnight, and throws a pie at his face.
