“Mummy Mayhem”

In "Mummy Mayhem," Archie’s town is split down the middle when Fred’s opposition to rising taxes turns into a full-blown campaign for City Council, pitting him against Hal Cooper, who champions park funding through higher taxes. With families on both sides and the whole town buzzing, the election becomes a hilarious, heartfelt clash of ideals—just as the usual high school shenanigans get a spooky twist. Written by Bill Golliher and brought to life with vibrant art by Stan Goldberg, inks by Bob Smith, and colors by Barry Grossman, this Double Digest tale captures the classic Archie charm with a side of seasonal mischief. The cover, by Jeff Shultz and Bob Smith, hints at the chaos to come.

When the City Council proposes to raise homeowners' taxes to provide for park funding, Fred gets angry and decides to run for City Council. Opposing him is Hal Cooper, who thinks it’s a great idea to fund the park with increased taxes. Soon, the two men and their families are divided on the tax issue, and everyone is campaigning for their ideas.
