“Box Score”

In "Box Score," Veronica returns from Hawaii with a vibrant hula girl outfit and a contagious rhythm, delighting the gang with her dance moves. When she invites Betty to join, the sudden tempo shift leads to an unexpected injury—leaving Betty unable to attend the evening dance. With Betty out, Archie finds himself paired with Veronica, setting off a lighthearted chain of events. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo’s signature style—penciled on the cover and rendered in full interior art by DeCarlo with inks by Rudy Lapick, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Bill Yoshida—this 1976 issue captures the playful charm of Riverdale’s most iconic teens.
