A character pilots a large mechanical buzzard and battles electric charges from the creature's talons before being whisked away to an unknown destination. Captain Carioli faces a ghostly manifestation at sea during a hurricane that claims his ship and crew. Sub Saunders contends with bombing planes attacking a subway transportation system, resulting in explosions throughout city streets and bridges while police attempt to stop the carnage.
