“Panther Jet!”

"Panther Jet!" kicks off with young Mark Edelblut guarding his sheep and his loyal hawk when a wolf threatens the flock—only to be driven off by the bird’s swift intervention. Moments later, the boy returns home to find his father’s castle under siege by Baron Von Wolffe’s army, but with a clever twist: his hawk becomes an unexpected weapon of war, scattering the troops and turning the tide in a moment of chaos. Written by Jerry De Fuccio and brought to life with dynamic art by Wally Wood—pencils and inks on both interior and cover, with color by Marie Severin and letters by Ben Oda—this 1953 EC Comics gem delivers a thrilling blend of rural quiet and sudden wartime drama, all in a 10-cent package.

Young Mark Edelblut is tending his herd of sheep, along with his trained hawk, which suddenly senses the presence of a wolf. The hawk successfully drives the wolf away and Mark heads home, only to find his father's castle being attacked by the army of Baron Von Wolffe.
