Gloria’s parents separated 5 years ago: her mother says she caught Gloria’s father cheating with another woman. When Gloria sees her boyfriend Jeff with a young woman, she assumes the worst and breaks their engagement. Gloria’s father returns and says his wife was mistaken about his supposed infidelity; Jeff shows up and explains that his “other woman” was his cousin, an interior decorator helping plan an apartment for Jeff and Gloria. Jeff and Gloria make up, as do Gloria's parents.
