Gunsmoke #2

This anthology issue contains two Western stories. The first follows Captain Burton Mossman, a former ranger who pursues the Mexican bandit Augustine Chacon across the border after Chacon murders the superintendent of a mine and steals gold meant for payroll; Mossman tracks down the escaped train robber Burt Alvord, enlists his help through appeals to his greed, and together they capture Chacon and deliver him to the sheriff in Solomonville, Arizona. The second story features masked gunfighter Marvel and outlaw Blackjack Grady planning a major heist: robbing the 11:05 train carrying fifty thousand dollars in payroll for the heavily guarded Mesa Mines.
