Gunsmoke

Gunsmoke, running 17 issues from 1970 to 1971 under Thorpe & Porter, adapted the long-running TV western into comics form. Paul S. Newman was the primary writer, while the art combined the work of Jim McLaughlin with photographic elements, giving the book a unique, hybrid visual style. This series brought the iconic television frontier to the printed page for a new audience.
