House of Terror #1

The first story involves Henry Cushing, who makes a sudden dash for the fireplace, only to be called a fool by another character. A burning log passes through a wall, destroying a portrait and causing a fire that consumes the house, leaving only a painting of Henry Cushing behind—which the butler claims Mr. Belial has collected along with many others. The second story features Gyp and Davie, two London underworld thieves who attempt to rob a gentleman at the Stag Tavern, but their scheme goes awry when they are pursued by authorities through the streets and eventually reach a dead end at a hotel. The final visible sequence shows two men climbing steep cliffs toward a weird rock formation, where they discuss a devil's chair and superstition before proceeding cautiously toward an upright object on the heights.
Henry Cushing, a frustrated bookkeeper trapped between a thankless job and a nagging wife, discovers a mysterious painting in an unfamiliar shop—and the sinister figure depicted within offers him a Faustian bargain: fifteen years of success as a painter in exchange for a dark price. As Henry's artistic dreams materialize and his wife's death removes the final obstacle to his ambitions, he begins to uncover the disturbing truth about the painting's previous owners, each of whom vanished after exactly fifteen years.
A struggling musician named Ulrico Antonio encounters a mysterious blind beggar who offers him the chance to own a legendary Stradivarius—but the price demands far more than mere coin. Driven by obsession and armed with unholy knowledge, Antonio embarks on a dark quest that transforms him into something neither wholly alive nor dead, bound to spread his curse to others who share his desperate hunger for greatness.
Two London thieves, Gyp and Davie, duck into a mysterious house to escape the police—only to encounter Khar, a fortune teller who sees their crimes in a seven-pointed star and curses them to die beneath its sign. After they kill him and steal the star, they find themselves hunted not just by the law, but by something far more supernatural, as Khar's vengeful spirit pursues them through the foggy streets and shadowed sewers of the city.
Don Raphael Ortiz, a proud Spanish nobleman, brings his dying son Francisco to a remote village in the Pyrenees hoping for a cure—but when the boy succumbs to illness, Don Raphael becomes desperate enough to attempt a dark ritual at the legendary Devil's Chair, a cursed rock formation said to revive the dead through lightning and sorcery. What he awakens, however, is far worse than grief: Francisco returns, but no longer human, compelled to serve darker powers and raise corpses of his own. Now Don Raphael must race against time and his own son to destroy the chair and stop the evil it has unleashed.
