“Another Nail [Part 1]”

In "Another Nail [Part 1]," Alan Davis delivers a gripping start to a pivotal arc as Green Lantern reveals Darkseid’s apparent demise—his final scheme collapsing under the weight of his own ambition. With the Oan lantern battery weakening and Superman suddenly feeling his powers fade, the Justice League races to uncover the truth behind the New Gods’ shadowy return, while Batman grapples with past losses and the Outsiders seek to restore Metamorpho with Dr. Fate’s aid. The story unfolds with grounded urgency, drawn with precision by Davis and inked by Farmer, capturing the weight of a universe on edge.

Green Lantern tells the JLA how Darkseid was destroyed when he tried to amass great power into a device of his own creation. GL also suggests that this final plot of Darkseid's may have some connection to the main Oan lantern battery recently losing power. Elsewhere, Batman continues to struggle with his guilt over the deaths of Batgirl and Robin, Green Arrow clings to life, and the Outsiders enlist Dr. Fate's help in reconstituting Metamorpho. Meanwhile, while Martian Manhunter and Superman scour the planet for evidence of New God activity, Superman also experiences a loss in power.
