Le Fantôme Spécial #55
In "La fin des marchands d'esclaves," The Phantom tracks a group of slavers after they capture Diana Palmer, only to be captured himself and left for dead in the desert. When the slavers abandon her, thinking her too dangerous to sell, The Phantom regains consciousness and turns the tables, forcing the slavers to lead him to Diana. Though she is ultimately rescued by British soldiers, The Phantom’s fate remains uncertain—Diana, believing him dead, returns to Morristown and is sent to a hospital, where her doctor keeps the truth from her: The Phantom still lives.
