In "Daredevil Rides," a young woman named Eva is dared by her friends to face increasingly thrilling amusement park rides, starting with the Sky-Flash roller coaster and the Parachute Jump, each challenge testing her courage. As she confronts her fears with a mix of bravado and hesitation, her friends tease and encourage her, leading to a series of wild, exhilarating moments. The story ends with a new dare that hints at another daring adventure, leaving her fate unknown.

In a school poster contest for "Be Kind to Dumb Animals Week," Eva and her friend Cindy both create artwork, with Eva confident her drawing of a dog will win. After Cindy nervously reveals her poster, Eva secretly alters it with paint and crayon to make it humorous—only to later discover the committee awarded the prize to Cindy, who had unknowingly submitted Eva’s altered version.

Eva agrees to watch Snoozy, Mrs. Buffet’s baby, while she shops, but when she leaves the carriage briefly to wash the baby’s bottle, Snoozy disappears—leading Eva to panic and believe she’s been kidnapped. Determined to make things right, Eva and her friend Nipper rush to the orphanage to adopt a replacement baby, only to be turned away due to their age.

Short Stuff embarks on a whimsical journey with a tiny bug, navigating everyday hazards like chewing gum, curbs, and a rushing "river" — all while the bug seems to be in more danger than it lets on. As they cross a makeshift twig bridge and face a perilous sewer, Short Stuff’s protective instincts kick in, only to be surprised when the bug reveals it can fly all along.

Nipper claims to have invented shrinking powder, demonstrating it on a large ball and can of peas, impressing Hot-Rod and Eva. When Hot-Rod tries to shrink Eva, she reveals the trick—she’d hidden small versions of the items in the box all along. The story ends with Eva pulling off a surprise shrinking illusion on a passing aunt, leaving the boys stunned.
