In "Zu viele Helden... Zu wenig Zeit!", Iron Lantern returns to Earth after returning H.E.C.T.O.R. to the living planet Oa, only to find himself racing against time to save Pepper Ferris during a daring test flight. Later, at a party, he confronts Great White—freed by Madame Sapphire—marking a clash of wills and powers in a story written by Kurt Busiek and Reinhard Schweizer, illustrated by Paul Smith with inks by Al Williamson, Andrew Pepoy, Bob McLeod, Palmer, Milgrom, and Greg Adams, and colored by Christie Scheele and Digital Chameleon. The cover, by José Ladrönn and Juan Vlasco with additional inks by Karl Kesel, captures the chaos of a world where heroes are more numerous than moments to act.
