Monte Hale and a newly elected congressman are pursued through Wild Horse Gulch by outlaw Lobo and his gang, who plan to stampede a herd of wild horses to trap them. As the stampede carries them toward a deadly ambush, Monte must protect the congressman while evading both the chaos of the galloping herd and the outlaws’ deadly tactics.

Gabby Hayes, on vacation but pressed into service, takes on a perilous mission to negotiate peace with the feared Kilaman Indians using a sacred peace pipe. Disguised villains plot to sabotage the treaty by making Gabby look foolish, but his quick thinking and a surprising mishap with berry juice expose their ruse. Panicked, he jokingly suggests they’d need a book of etiquette to decide—only to reveal that such a book would actually tell them which fork to follow. The moment hangs in suspense as they face the unknown choice, with no guidebook in sight.

Monte Hale rides alongside a telegraph crew building a line from Kansas City to Gila Bend, stepping in when a gang attacks the workers. As tensions rise and sabotage threatens the line’s completion, Monte uncovers a conspiracy involving a Pony Express boss and a businessman who stand to lose from the telegraph’s arrival.

Big Bow and Little Arrow accidentally order a feast at a restaurant but realize too late they have no money to pay.
