Sniffy the pup is initially excluded from a baseball game with other dogs because he has ruined their bats and balls previously, but after demonstrating his newfound strength by playing tag with a cat, he convinces them he's changed and they allow him to join. Later, when Sniffy attempts to rescue a squirrel stuck in a tree, he bundles the frightened animal and gets blamed for attacking it, leading the neighborhood children to chase him away. Desperate to hide, Sniffy purchases a cat mask from a store, but the disguise backfires when a dog catcher mistakes him for an actual feline instead of the dog he was trying to capture.
