SubHuman #2
In "Rapture And The Deep (Chapter 2)," Krill Stromer plunges into the ocean, embracing his strange fish-like abilities as whales rise to confront the monstrous threats below. With Captain Jubal Early closing in and a conspiracy unfolding above, Krill flees to an old cannery where he reunites with allies—only to be ambushed by man-like salamanders. As soldiers descend and the cannery burns, Senator Kenneally receives a mysterious injection, transforming him into the Urschlime, while a new bathysphere is readied beneath the waves. Written by Mark Schultz and illustrated by Roger Petersen, with colors by David Stewart and cover art by Schultz himself, this issue deepens the mystery with a blend of aquatic dread and high-stakes intrigue.

Krill Stromer dives, assumes fish abilities, and summons whales to eat the monsters. Captain Jubal Early covers up, but reports to Senator Kenneally, archenemy of Krill's family. Off the coast of New Brunswick, Krill steals a parachute and bails out, but Early follows. In a lab inside an old cannery, Krill meets friends - as helicopters drop soldiers sent by Krill's mother. Man-like "salamanders" burst in. In the battle, Krill is kidnapped. The Senator orders the cannery blown up, then receives an injection to become the "Urschlime", and scientists report the new bathysphere is ready.
