Jergal Zadh découvre que Conan sera un jour roi et envoie Cléolanthe après lui. Cléolanthe incite Conan à utiliser la lame noire qui vole l'âme. Tombant amoureuse de lui, Cléolanthe se retourne contre Zadh et empêche Conan d'utiliser la Lame. Sans les pouvoirs de Zadh pour garder sa jeunesse, Cléolanthe embrasse Conan une dernière fois et tombe en poussière.
