Bingo vows that by the end of the day Mr. Smythe will love him like a son. Filled with typical Wilkin stubbornness and stick-to-itiveness, he spends the entire day ignoring Samantha and trying to make her father like him. By the end of the day, Mr. Smythe loves him and Samantha dumps him.
