Betty convinces Little Archie to walk her home after school. Not wanting to walk any more "sissy girls" home, Little Archie decides to take her via his famous short cut, through Spook Woods and the Hockomock Swamp, hoping that she'll turn back and go home by herself. Meanwhile, three of Betty's stuffed dolls -- a stupid panda, a vain sea captain, and a wise old witch -- comment on her behavior and try to figure out what (or who) is making her act so strangely.
