The Best of Betty and Veronica Summer Fun #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "A Share of Happening," Cheryl and her brother Jason attempt to spice up the Riverdale beach scene with a pair of misadventures—one involving a daring (and quickly thwarted) topless moment, the other a clumsy attempt to smuggle beer in a disguised soda can—both hilariously foiled by Betty and the beach patrol. Dan DeCarlo’s signature art brings the chaos to life, capturing the playful spirit of this 1991 summer special, with his own pencils and inks on the cover.
In "A Share of Happening," Archie dreams he's at the helm of Archie Enterprises, overseeing a wildly ambitious empire of merchandising that stretches from TV shows to restaurants and even food products. With Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead, and publisher John Goldwater by his side, the future of Archie’s brand is debated with equal parts humor and absurdity.
In "The Potent Polka," Jughead ropes Archie into entering Veronica in a beauty contest, hoping to stack the odds by gathering five less glamorous girls—only to find Betty has her own plans. With both Veronica and Betty eyeing the same polka-dot bathing suit, Archie’s attempts to dissuade one end up swaying the other, leading to a surprise twist at the contest.
Betty and Veronica trade their usual rivalry for sunscreen as Archie ropes them into a beach day ahead of the school dance, eager to play the perfect host. But between sunscreen applications, towel arrangements, and snack runs, he quickly learns that "relaxing" might be a relative term when you're the only one doing the work.
Betty and Veronica are baffled when Archie and Reggie ignore them at the beach, despite both pairs sporting the same flashy bikinis as every other girl around. With their usual charm and confidence seemingly lost on the boys, Betty wonders if the problem is simply that they’ve become too familiar — and decides to find out what it takes to catch a guy’s eye.
Betty and Veronica both claim Archie’s attention in "Escape Hatch," a lighthearted summer misadventure where a simple misunderstanding over a late-night walk through the park sparks a flurry of jealousy and quick explanations. With Archie caught in the middle, the trio’s usual banter takes a playful turn as secrets are revealed — and not all of them are about who walked where.
Cheryl Blossom tries to bring a little Parisian flair to the Riverdale beach, suggesting she go topless "like they do in the south of France," much to Betty Cooper’s dismay. Meanwhile, her brother Jason Blossom attempts a sneaky beer run disguised as a soda can, only to be caught red-handed by the beach patrol.
