Darkseid tells his younger self that he has brought him from the distant past to combine his experienced mind with his young body. Though the universe is collapsing across time due to this manipulation, Darkseid explains that he has had his servants gather dark matter to deflect the wave of collapsing time. But the younger Darkseid calls the Legion to his side against his older rival. During the fight, other Legionnaires plan to go back in time before the event which caused the collapse of time. But before they can, the younger Darkseid grabs Orion and turns his son's power on his older self.
