“Foundations, Part Four”

In "Foundations, Part Four," Clark Kent breaks free from Darkseid’s mind control, guided by his Mother Box toward Smallville—only to be hunted by Orion. The Legion of Super-Heroes intervenes, shielding Clark and using his Mother Box to launch a daring mission to Apokolips, where a surge of sacrifice reanimates Darkseid’s statue and opens a Boom Tube, heralding the arrival of a second Darkseid. Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with art by Chris Batista and inks by Chip Wallace, this pivotal issue sees the Legion take center stage in a high-stakes battle across dimensions, all under the dynamic cover by Tony Harris and Tom Feister.

Clark Kent shakes off the brainwashing of the servants of Darkseid and with the help of his Mother Box heads for Smallville, but with Orion in pursuit. The Legion arrives and protects Clark, driving Orion away. Using Clark's Mother Box, the Legionnaires head to Apokolips just as enough Catastrophists sacrifice themselves to re-animate the statue-like Darkseid and create a Boom Tube in which a second Darkseid arrives.
