Superman and Sion team up to fight the Oblivion Shadow, but Sion gets trapped inside it, and eventually Superman too. Ben gets the idea of having Metron modify Sion's cage, but someone has to deliver it to the anomaly. Monikka, having seen all the heroism around her, volunteers as the logical choice, even though she's afraid. Ben then triggers the device, and it destroys the Oblivion Shadow, releasing Superman and Sion. They convince Sion that, even after what the Next did to set things right, they deserve to be left alone. Sion and Superman leave, and the Next goes off with Monikka.
