The Tick #7
In "The Moon Menace," The Tick embarks on a delightfully absurd mission that kicks off with a quest for Pez, leading him to team up with a gumshoe detective in a wild showdown against a bizarre lineup of villains, a pit of man-eating alligators and cows, and the ever-ominous Chairface Chippendale—whose grand plan involves writing his name on the moon. Written and illustrated by Ben Edlund, with inks by Dave Garcia and letters by Bob Polio, this 1990 New England Comics gem features The Tick’s now-iconic battle cry—“SPOON!”—and a cover by Edlund and Garcia that perfectly captures the issue’s manic energy.
