James Robinson took over Wonder Woman with issue #31 (September 2017) at the direct request of DC editorial — specifically, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio asked Robinson to address Jason, a plot thread introduced in Geoff Johns's Justice League 'Darkseid War' story that had sat unresolved for over a year after Greg Rucka's preceding Rebirth run chose not to engage with the character. Robinson has stated that the 'Amazons Attacked' arc's Darkseid angle was developed in coordination with Scott Snyder's concurrent Dark Nights: Metal event. Robinson's run on the series used a rotating art team; issue #43 is pencilled by Marco Santucci with colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr., with a cover by Paul Renaud and a variant by Jenny Frison — the DC.com solicitation lists Stephen Segovia as the interior artist, but multiple review sources identify Santucci as the actual interior penciller for this specific chapter.
