"Dick Lash and the Pony Express" follows young Dick Lash as he joins the pony express mail delivery service alongside his sister Molly; Dick encounters danger from Sioux raiders and Paleface Rider outlaws who attempt to intercept the mail, but he manages to survive and continue his route. The second story chronicles an 1832 expedition led by Captain Joe de Bonneville, who sets out with 110 men from the West to map and trap furs in the Rockies, warning that the dangerous territory will likely result in scalping despite their well-armed expedition.
