Justice League of America #107
In "Crisis on Earth-X!", the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America find themselves stranded on a dystopian Earth where the Nazis won World War II, after a malfunctioning transmatter machine sends them across dimensions. With the Red Tornado and six heroes caught in a world ruled by fascist tyranny, they’re rescued by the Freedom Fighters—led by Uncle Sam—and learn of a global network of mind-control machines. Written by Len Wein and illustrated by Dick Dillin, with inks by Dick Giordano and colors by Glynis Wein, this pivotal story unfolds with urgent stakes and a stark alternate reality. The cover, a striking image by Nick Cardy, captures the tension of a world turned upside down.

During an annual meeting between the JLA and JSA, six members and the Red Tornado (accidentally interfering with the transmatter machine that transports the two groups between Earths 1 and 2) are accidentally transported to another Earth, in which the Nazis won World War Two. The seven heroes are able to defeat a small group of Nazi soldiers, but are almost defeated by sonic machines when the Freedom Fighters, led by Uncle Sam, take the heroes away and explain what's going on. The three groups learn of machines around the world controlling everyone's minds, and set about to destroy them all.
