About this Collection

This fourth volume of Marvel's Savage Sword of Conan: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus series collects the black-and-white Conan stories originally published in issues #47-59 of the magazine, along with the 1981 Giant-Size Savage Sword of Conan. Featuring the work of writers like Roy Thomas and artists such as John Buscema and Alfredo Alcala, this edition continues the epic sword-and-sorcery adventures of Robert E. Howard's iconic Cimmerian, presented in oversized hardcover format with a variant cover by Joe Jusko.

In "The Gem in the Tower [Part I]," Conan finds himself caught between treachery and survival as he manipulates rival pirate captains Strombanni and Zarono into confronting the deadly guardian of Tranicos’ treasure—only for his plan to backfire. Forced into an uneasy alliance, the trio must fight off the Picts and survive the ruins of Valenso’s fort, where a final reckoning with Thoth-Amon’s legacy leaves only a few standing. With the fate of Aquilonia hanging in the balance, Conan is offered a new path—one that tests his ambition as much as his blade. Written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with dynamic art by John Buscema, inks by Klaus Janson, and letters by Joe Rosen, this epic tale features a cover by Earl Norem.
