During an Easter egg hunt, a young boy finds a strange egg. The egg communicates with him telepathically and asks him to take him to a spot no one will know about. The boy takes him to a secret cave where the egg hatches a cone shaped alien creature who demands the boy bring him meat. The boy does so but is eventually sent to summer camp by his parents. The starving alien (now gigantic) stalks across the countryside devouring livestock. The military eventually destroy it with flame throwers. The story ends with children all across America finding similar strange eggs during Easter egg hunts...
