Weird Fantasy #14
In "The Exile!", a 1952 EC Comics gem, a brilliant scientist’s breakthrough in rocket fuel leads to a daring interplanetary journey—only to land him stranded on Venus, where his claim of being from Earth earns him a cell in a psychiatric ward. With art by Al Williamson, Roy Krenkel, and Frank Frazetta, and inks by the same trio, this issue pulses with the eerie wonder of early science fiction, all under the sharp storytelling of Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein. The cover, by Al Feldstein, captures the moment of alien isolation with haunting precision.

One of Rodney Simon's lab workers at his company has discovered a way of refining high octane gasoline that produces certain gases, whose molecular structure is unknown.....but, when liquified, creates a new gas that, when mixed with oxygen, provides the force necessary to propel a rocket outside Earth's gravitational field. Although the Moon is the planned landing area, Simon decides Venus to be a better choice. After his ship crashes on the planet, he tells the human looking Venusians that he is from Earth. They think him mad and place him in a mental asylum.
