About the series
A short-lived but action-packed 1990s Marvel series, Force Works spun out of the aftermath of The Crossing, replacing the West Coast Avengers with a more proactive, paramilitary-style team. Spearheaded by the writing duo Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with art by Tom Tenney, Jim Cheung, and Dave Taylor, the book followed Iron Man, the Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, U.S.Agent, and Julia Carpenter as they tackled global-scale threats with cutting-edge technology and a heavy dose of interpersonal drama. The series is notable for its dark, high-stakes tone and for its role in shaping the fate of the Scarlet Witch during a pivotal era of Marvel storytelling.
