For three decades, Charlton Comics’ Freddy (1958–1965) offered a lighthearted, gag-a-page look at suburban childhood through the eyes of its mischievous young hero and his pals Stuff and Peggy. Anchored by the prolific Joe Gill’s scripts and the clean, expressive artwork of Jon D’Agostino, Charles Nicholas, and Rocke Mastroserio, the series turned everyday mishaps and schoolyard scrapes into gentle comedy.
