Team America

Marvel’s Team America (1982–1983) was a short-lived, 12-issue series that blended high-octane trucking action with superheroics, following a crew of truckers—including Winthrop Roan Jr., Marauder, R.U. Reddy, Honcho, James McDonald, and Wolf—who fought villainy from the cab of their big rig. Written primarily by Bill Mantlo, Jim Shooter, and Denny O’Neil, with art by Alan Kupperberg, Luke McDonnell, and Mike Vosburg, the series stood out for its gritty, blue-collar take on the Marvel Universe, offering a unique fusion of road-warrior adventure and corporate intrigue that still feels like a hidden gem from the early ’80s.
