His entry into comics proved equally productive. Active in the medium from 2006 through at least 2025, Gage has written more than 370 issues across a wide range of publishers and properties. He is perhaps best recognized in comics circles for *Avengers Academy*, the superhero training-ground series that earned him a dedicated readership, and for his extended work in the Spider-Man corner of Marvel, including *The Superior Spider-Man*, *The Amazing Spider-Man*, and the crossover event *Spider-Geddon*. He also wrote tie-in material for the major Marvel storylines "Civil War" and "World War Hulk." Beyond Marvel, Gage made a considerable mark on the Buffyverse, penning *Angel & Faith* and both *Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10* and *Season 11*, as well as an early run on *Wildcats*.
