About the series
From 1959 to 1968, Marvel’s Tales to Astonish began as a showcase for sci-fi and fantasy tales before evolving into a cornerstone of the early Marvel Universe, with Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Roy Thomas scripting stories brought to life by the iconic pencils of Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers. The series is best remembered for launching the Hulk in its pages and later anchoring the adventures of both Henry Pym (as Ant-Man and Giant-Man) and Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, alongside Major Glenn Talbot.
