Kenneth Perkins' "Desert Voices" (part one of six) and Harry Sinclair Drago's "The Avenging Shepherd" (part three of six) appear to be Western narratives. Florence M. Pettee's "Marked Down" (part two of four) and Francis Lynde's "Cheddar Cheese" (part four of four) offer domestic storylines, while Isabel Ostrander's "Dust to Dust" (part five of six) presents a mystery.
