This issue of Amazing Stories vol. 2, no. 5 (August 1927) contains five science fiction stories. H. G. Julian Huxley contributes "The Tissue-Culture King" (reprinted from Yale Review), while Cecil B. White offers "The Retreat to Mars." E. D. Skinner's "Electro-Episoded in A.D. 2025" envisions future electrical technology, and A. Hyatt Verrill supplies "The Ultra-Elixir of Youth," a tale of rejuvenation. Additional fiction includes Victor Thaddeus's "The Chemical Magnet," Henry Hugh Simmons's "Hicks' Automatic Apartment," and Edward S. Sears's "The Shadow on the Spark." The cover features the Martian tripod machines from Wells's serialized novel. Upcoming stories previewed include Otis Adelbert Kline's "The Radio Ghost" and Kenneth Gilbert's "The Winged Doom," exploring aviation warfare scenarios.
